Dear IMA Chapter Member,
We are having an exiting event this month. Tektronix is hosting our
chapter meeting on site
at their campus in Beaverton. Being able to meet on site at a major
Portland firm and meet with their finance & accounting team is a great
opportunity for networking that you won’t want to miss. Our theme for
February is Business Valuation. We have two good speakers, one who
will describe the techniques to value a business and another to
discuss best people practices for integration after a company
purchase.
There are also two education opportunities you may wish to avail
yourself of. First if the Reno Educational Seminar and Training (REST)
for 2008. This conference, held in Reno NV, from February 21-23, will
allow you to earn up to 21 hours of CPE. Our chapter’s own Ken Becker
will be speaking on Record Management Strategies. You may obtain the
REST 2008 brochure and registration information from the
Golden West Council Website.
Another educational and networking opportunity is available at the
national IMA conference in Tampa FL from June 14-18th. Yours truly
will be one of the speakers; my topic is how to setup your own
offshore facility. You can obtain over 30 CPE hours at this conference
as well as great networking opportunities. Registration information is
